How it works

The whole mechanic

Each category is a leaderboard. A business’s position is its cumulative total of successfully paid dollars in that category, highest first. That is the entire ranking rule. There is no other input.

Payments add up

Every payment is added to whatever that business has already paid in that category. Pay $100 today and $50 next week and the total is $150. Minimum $10 per payment, maximum $5,000 per payment.

Ties, races and what is not promised

If two businesses hold the same total, whoever reached it first is ahead. If two payments land at almost the same moment, both are credited in full and the board settles wherever the totals put them — so the amount shown as “what it takes to pass #1” is a suggestion based on the board at that second, not a promise of a position. You are buying dollars of ranking value, not a reserved slot, and no position is held for any length of time.

Businesses listed at $0

Most businesses on this site have paid nothing. They are listed as known Cleveland businesses in their category, sourced from public information, and marked $0 unclaimed. Being listed is not a review, a rating, a recommendation, an endorsement, a sponsorship or a claim that the business has any relationship with this site. Any business can ask to be removed and will be.

Money and refunds

Payments are processed by Stripe. Your position changes only after Stripe confirms the payment cleared. Refunded or disputed money stops counting toward rank, to the cent, as soon as we are notified. See the refund policy.

What this is not

This is not a “best of” list. Nobody here is voted, rated, reviewed, vetted, recommended or judged on quality, service, price or anything else. Positions are advertising and are sold. If that bothers you, that is a reasonable reaction to an honest description of what this is.
